Tsunami Disaster

Did you know that today there was a 1 minute silence to remember and reflect upon the incident. It was at 11:59am when the earthquake actually hit on boxing day.

My friend was in Sri Lanka on that day and so I've been worried since but a week or so ago, I found out that she was safe so the incident has infact affected me in some way unlike the Bali Bombings and alike so I'd like to just have a minutes silence here.

This was the worst natural disaster that many have seen in heaps of years and so many people died. I hope that others will take the chance to help out in some way.

How am I? Not that good actually. Ok let's re-phrase that. I'm OK, I just don't feel all that crash hot at the moment. Maybe because I'm tired...I think I ate too much at Karen and David's house...too much dip, not good. Hey Fujiko I just realised, I worked out how to log in again! *claps* I'm so proud. I don't think I have anything else to say.

Exams- we don't want them

I write this to express my contempt against exams. Not little tests and all that, but the big end-of-year exams- the ones that decide your desired future. What happens, by some weird twist of fate, that you do so badly? I mean, surely they must take in the account of your participation in class as well as other tests. I don't like how the mark stands out so vividly on your report (even though that's the main thing that matters). ...anyway, I probably shouldn't be complaining, because they are so 'necessary' and all that, but after a week of having at least one big exam every day, and staying up until 10:30 at night (which is ironic, given that you should get a good-night's sleep before your exam). Yeah.

Here's a scenario:

You come home from a badminton match, after enduring eight hours of school, running around like a maniac with your badminton partner, feeling like a fool, willing yourself to be a better player, but at the end feel alright about it because you won. You retire to the car, your mother at the wheel, happy taht you won and enjoyed your game.
"Mum, what's for dinner?"
"Oh, we've run out of pasta, so you'll have to settle for party pies."
You groan at the fact that it takes more than 6 party pies to fill your tummy, but you have to share some with your little brother.
"Oh well, doesn't matter," you think. "I'll just load up on chips and chocolate."
So, while the party pies are in the oven, you open the pantry door and find the box of chocolates, neatly stored up high. You grab it, it feels unusually light. You open it to find NOTHING, ZERO, ZILCH, NOT EVEN A WRAPPER! You chuck it on the floor, feeling remorseful at your older brother for him being a pig for eating all the chocies. His excuse is always the same; I was hungry.
"Well that's okay, i'll just eat lots of packets of chips," you think. You open the cupboard door, take out the mega pack, look inside and- there are only two packets left, one a flavour which you puke at, the other your favourite. You weigh up the options; either eat it now, or have it for recess tomorrow. You decide on the latter, and patiently wait for your dinner.

It's the next day, recess. You feel happy, because you're starving but that's okay, because your favourite flavour of chips is in the lunch box. You open the lunchbox and- it's the other flavour of chips. ARRRRRGH! This is a day in the life of Nayru. Well not everyday, but Thursdays mainly, when we were playing badminton.

Well Fujiko's been complaining that no one's posting, so yeah. So what's been happening in the wonderfully mundane world of Sunflower? Well I went to the movies today with a friend. We ate sushi for lunch! ^_^ Um we saw "A Cinderella story" it wasn't half bad. I mean it was OK but it wasn't brilliant. I saw the ending comming. Um what else? Oh I can play jingle bells on my trombone, that's pretty cool. Nothing else has really happened...^_^;;;

Start of the Holidays!!

Well it's Monday and so now it's technically the start of the holidays!! I haven't done much... actually I haven't done anything interesting but I thought I should just post... so yea..
Anyway.. Miki has gone to Venus (sp?) Bay and so she won't be posting for around 10 days.. Hope she has fun!
And.. hm.. I haven't got anything planned except to do homework. Don't you just hate it when you realise that it's the holidays but you have heaps of homework to do. If I had never started making all these blogs and signing up for things on teh net I don't think I'd mind cause I'd be so bored that I would do them.. but now.. I'm not bored and I have to stop doing the things I enjoy and work on stuff... argh!! HATE IT!!
My darn violin teacher is making me perform at the first Performance Assembly back for term 4 and I've never ever performed violin solo before so I'm really freaked out and I can't even play the piece well.. problem is I can't get myself to practice! Really bad... and my mum on the other hand wants me to practice my piano and I know that I need to do my Theory and other Homework... too much.. lol... ah well..

Hey, this is Fujiko! I've finally created a group blog! None of the members have joined yet and Miki won't be able to join for a while cause of the holiday she's going on. Well I hope that this can keep running for a long time until hopefully we are out of school!

It'll be a great way to keep in touch and let each other know about what we've been doing.
